Moroccan Inspired Event Bat Mitzvah Esther at Chabad Romano Centre

After a short meeting with Inna, mother of Bat Mitzvah girl, I had a filling that this time it’s going to be something different, something that in our Thornhill area never been seen before, especially in Chabad Romano Centre.

The main story behind this Bat mitzvah was the beautiful story of Purim from the “Book of Ester”.

The hero of the story are Esther, a beautiful young Jewish woman living in Persia.

Who was taken to the house of Ahasuerus, King of Persia, to become part of his harem, and he loved her more than his other women and made her queen.

Esther asked the king’s permission for the Jews in Shushan to have one more day to destroy their enemy—and the king acceded to her wish.

On that day, the 14th of Adar, the Jews worldwide celebrated, and the Jews of Shushan killed more of their enemies, and also hung Haman’s sons.

The Jews of Shushan then rested and celebrated on the 15th of Adar.

Queen Esther Saved the Jewish People.

So stunning decor of the event was created with all that in mind.

Mazel Tov to Esther and the whole Kholodenko family !

Chabad Lubavitch Bar Mitzvah Thornhill Mendel

Chabad Lubavitch Bar Mitzvah Thornhill Mendel

Bar Mitzvah can be explained to a layman as coming of age. So it should be technically referred to as becoming a Bar Mitzvah.
This is the age at which the children become obligated to observe the commandments.
For boys the age is 13 and for girls, it is 12.
After Bar Mitzvah, the boy becomes responsible for his own actions for Jewish rituals and law and traditions.

The occasion of Bar Mitzvah finds mention in Mishnah and Talmud.

At the Bar Mitzvah of Mendel Thornhill we were lucky to witness the richness Jewish traditions and understand their philosophy towards life. Being a religious function, everybody was immaculately dressed in formals and we couldn’t help but take as many snaps of the gentlemen as possible.

After reaching the venue, we took several photos of the traditionally decorated tables. The Rabbi presided over the function.
The father was also called upon to recite a blessing to thank god as he would be no longer held responsible for the sins committed by his son.

Mendel was also called up to the Torah to recite a blessing. It was impressive how he completed his speech and declared that “Today I am a man.”

All the guests and his friends lined up to congratulate him. They wished him Mazel Tov and he graciously accepted their wishes.

The celebration was no less than a wedding with all his friends and relatives and as photographers we had a lovely time capturing their emotions in our cameras.
The proud parents did not shy to pose for us and his friends were more than elated.

After all the rituals were performed the party started and everybody enjoyed themselves. We enjoyed every bit of the Hora dancing which is a must in any Jewish Simha .
There was much fun and frolic as the guests joined in the dances. It was fun to watch the kids participate with much gusto.

Being a formal occasion, we took several snaps in black and white to capture the essence of the ceremony. Needless to say, we enjoyed as much as our hosts and hope that the album would be fondly remembered by everyone as a milestone in Mendel’s life.

And of course one more of the tons of our positive reviews on our Weddingwire website, by father of the Bar Mitzvah Boy – Dov
